Kinesio-Tape

What is Kinesio-Tape?

Most taping methods are to limit range of motion and add stability. With kinesio tape, athletic performance is not restricted with the injured area , but rather supported without limitation. This taping method is a form of rehabilitation to facilitate the body’s natural healing process.

Mechanism behind kinesio tape:

  • Provides soft tissue manipulation to extend the benefits of therapy administered in the clinical setting.
  • Correcting muscle function by strengthening weakened muscles
  • Improving circulation of blood and lymph by eliminating tissue fluid or bleeding beneath the skin by moving the muscle
  • Decreasing pain through neurological suppression
  • Repositioning subluxed joints by relieving abnormal muscle tension helping to return the function of fascia and muscle.
  • Improve posture
